Cleaning your nail brush properly helps prevent bacteria buildup and keeps it effective for longer. Here’s how to wash and clean it properly:
How to Wash and Clean a Nail Brush
After Each Use (Quick Clean):
Rinse Thoroughly:
Rinse the brush under warm water immediately after use to remove soap, dirt, and nail debris.
Use Mild Soap or Antibacterial Hand Wash:
Apply a drop of soap and gently work it into the bristles with your fingers.
Rinse Again:
Ensure all soap is washed out and there's no residue.
Shake Off Excess Water:
Shake the brush lightly or pat it on a clean towel.
Air Dry:
Let it dry bristle-side down or horizontally on a clean towel to prevent mildew.
Weekly Deep Clean (Recommended):
Soak in Vinegar or Antiseptic Solution:
Mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water (or use diluted rubbing alcohol).
Soak the brush for 10–15 minutes to disinfect.
Scrub Gently (Optional):
Use an old toothbrush to scrub between the bristles if there's buildup.
Rinse and Dry:
Rinse thoroughly and dry as above.
Additional Tips:
Avoid soaking wooden-handled brushes too long — it can damage the wood.
Replace the brush every few months or if the bristles become deformed or discolored.
Never share your nail brush to avoid cross-contamination.
